INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior linebacker Kyle Young finished the day with a game-high 13 tackles.

• Junior linebacker Nick McBeath added eight tackles and a forced fumble.

• Junior quarterback Blaise Bell hit on 11 of 23 passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Holy Cross opened the scoring at the 6:08-mark of the first quarter on a 24-yard scoring strike from senior wide out Brendan Flaherty to Wieczorek.

• The Crusaders increased their lead to 14-0 early in the second quarter when Bell found Wieczorek for a four-yard touchdown.

• After senior placekicker Zane Wasp drilled a 23-yard field goal to make the score 17-0, DeFloria put the Bison on the board with a one-yard touchdown run.

• Late in the second quarter, McBeath forced a fumble on a punt return, setting up a 32-yard Wasp field goal to make the halftime score 20-7.

• Bucknell held Holy Cross at bay for much of the second half, and used two scoring runs by Chad Freshnock to claim a 21-20 lead.

• The Crusaders would have one more scoring opportunity late in the fourth quarter, but a 42-yard field goal attempt was wide right with 3:38 to go and the Bison held on for the victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:

• Wieczorek's 116 punt return yards were the fourth-highest single-game total in school history.

• Flaherty has now attempted two passes in his Holy Cross career, with both of them going for touchdowns.
