WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross senior linebacker Kyle Young and freshman tailback Domenic Cozier have been honored by the Patriot League for their performances in Saturday's 27-17 victory over No. 20 Harvard. Young was named the Corvias Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, while Cozier was chosen as the Corvias Patriot League Rookie of the Week.
In the Harvard game, Young totaled eight tackles with two quarterback sacks and two forced fumbles. His first sack and forced fumble came on the same play in the first quarter, with the Crusaders recovering the ball in the Crimson end zone for a touchdown. Young forced another fumble on a sack in the third quarter, with Holy Cross recovering on the Harvard 40-yard line. On the season, he ranks second on the squad with 57 total tackles, to go along with four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and an interception. Over the course of his collegiate career, Young has now totaled 179 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, six forced fumbles and three interceptions.
Cozier saw his first action of the season at tailback against the Crimson, after previously playing in four games as a backup wide receiver and on special teams. He rushed the ball 16 times for 112 yards against Harvard, in addition to catching four passes for 13 yards. Cozier became the first Holy Cross player to rush for 100 yards in a game since the 2014 season.
Holy Cross (3-4 overall, 1-1 Patriot League) returns to action this Saturday, Oct. 22, when it plays host to Lehigh at 12:05 p.m.
