• The Lead: Junior guard Anthony Thompson finished with 14 points and three assists, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Colgate 76-61 at Cotterell Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The game was close early on, and the Crusaders held an 11-8 lead after the first four minutes of play.
• Colgate scored the next seven points to pull in front, and eventually held a 20-15 lead with six minutes left before the break.
• Holy Cross came back to claim a two-point lead late in the half (29-27), before the Raiders took a 33-29 advantage into the locker room.
• Colgate started the second half hot, hitting its first five shots while increasing its lead to seven points (46-39).
• The Raiders' advantage would remain between five and nine points for the next several minutes, and eventually stood at 61-54 with 7:34 left to play.
• Colgate then scored the next seven points, and would lead by double-figures for the remainder of the day.
• Holy Cross scored only five points in the game's final five minutes, as the Raiders pulled away to win by 15 points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Colgate was able to hit 54.3 percent of its field goal attempts on the day (25 of 46), including 72.2 percent in the second half (13 of 18).
• The Crusaders shot 47.6 percent from three-point range (10 of 21), but made just 43.5 percent of their field goals overall (20 of 46).
• Junior guard Robert Champion finished the game with 12 points and three rebounds, while senior guard Cullen Hamilton added eight points.
• The Raiders were led by Malcolm Regisford with 20 points and eight rebounds.
