Holy Cross Downed By Lehigh

The Lead: Junior center Matt Husek scored a career-high 23 points, but the Holy Cross men's basketball team was defeated by Lehigh 87-66 at the Hart Center.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Husek hit eight of 11 field goal attempts, four of six three-pointers and three of four free throws on the day.
Junior forward Malachi Alexander added 10 points, four assists and three rebounds for the Crusaders.
The Mountain Hawks were led by Austin Price with 22 points and six rebounds.
Holy Cross made just 38.2 percent of its field goal attempts (21 of 55) in the game, while Lehigh was able to connect on 55.9 percent of its shots from the floor (33 of 59).
The Mountain Hawks also held a 39-24 rebounding advantage.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Lehigh started the game hot, jumping out to an early 10-2 lead after the first four minutes of play.
The Mountain Hawks added a 7-1 run a few minutes later, and went on to take a 34-16 advantage with 5:45 left before the break.
Holy Cross closed out the half on a 10-2 run, but still trailed by nine points (40-31) heading into the locker room.
The Crusaders trimmed the margin down to eight (44-36) early in the second half, before Lehigh used a 16-3 run to take a commanding 60-39 lead.
Holy Cross would get no closer than 18 points the rest of the way, as the Mountain Hawks eventually posted a 21-point victory.
