• The Lead: Colgate tailback James Holland rushed 24 times for 141 yards, as the Raiders posted a 31-14 victory over the Holy Cross football team at Fitton Field on Homecoming weekend. Following the contest, Holland received the Johnny Turco Memorial Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the Crusaders' Homecoming game.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Junior wide out Brendan Flaherty led the Holy Cross offense with a career-high 12 receptions for 79 yards.
• Junior quarterback Peter Pujals completed 23 of 37 attempts for 195 yards and a score.
• Senior wide receiver Kalif Raymond caught six passes for 77 yards.
• Sophomore linebacker Nick McBeath led the Crusader defense with 12 total tackles.
• Senior cornerback Coan Calabrese finished with four tackles, an interception and three pass breakups.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Crusaders opened the scoring at the 6:15-mark of the first quarter on a one-yard touchdown pass from Pujals to junior tight end Mark McGuire.
• After Colgate's Jonah Bowman kicked a 27-yard field goal early in the second quarter, sophomore tailback Diquan Walker scored on a three-yard run to put Holy Cross up 14-3.
• But with only 26 seconds left before halftime, the Raiders cut the margin to 14-10 on a five-yard touchdown run by Demetrius Russell.
• Following a scoreless third quarter, Colgate pulled in front early in the fourth on a 22-yard scoring strike from Jake Melville to John Quazza.
• The Raiders would then increase their lead to 24-14 on a two-yard touchdown run by John Wilkins, capping a 14-play, 69-yard drive which took 8:32 off the clock.
• Colgate then concluded the scoring with a 60-yard interception return for a touchdown by Chris Morgan.
