WORCESTER, Mass. – The College of the Holy Cross department of athletics and Crusaders Sports Properties have announced their radio broadcast teams for the 2015-2016 school year. Dick Lutsk will serve as the play-by-play announcer for both football and men's basketball games, while Bob Fouracre will handle the play-by-play for women's basketball. In addition, Adam Giardino will join the Crusaders this year as the men's basketball color commentator.
“We are looking forward to the upcoming Holy Cross football and basketball seasons, which will be aired by our new partners at WEEI and on the Patriot League Network,” said Holy Cross director of athletics
Nathan Pine. “We have a radio team moving forward committed to bringing the excitement of our games to Holy Cross fans all over the country and world that cannot join us on campus. We would also like to thank Bob Fouracre for everything he has done for Holy Cross and all he has meant to our broadcasts throughout the years. We are pleased he will continue to be a part of our broadcast team for women's basketball.”
Holy Cross Athletics will honor Bob Fouracre, the voice of the Crusaders, for his 45 years of service to the College during Homecoming on Saturday, Sept. 26, at Fitton Field.
Lutsk has announced select Holy Cross games in men's basketball, women's basketball and men's ice hockey since 2004, and has also served as the play-by-play voice of the Dartmouth football team for the last four seasons. Fouracre has been announcing Holy Cross athletic events on both radio and television for the last 44 years, and was inducted into the Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 2007. Giardino is currently in his third season as the play-by-play announcer for the Trenton Thunder, the Class AA affiliate of the New York Yankees, and also has collegiate broadcasting experience with both UMass and Brown.
“I have enjoyed announcing Holy Cross sports for several decades, and I'm glad I will be able to continue that relationship on women's basketball broadcasts this season,” said Fouracre. “I'm sure I will miss announcing football, but it will give me the opportunity to enjoy those games as a fan, and also allow me more time to explore some of my other interests.”
Beginning this fall, all of Holy Cross' football and men's basketball games will be aired on Sports Radio 1440 WEEI Worcester. Select women's basketball games will also be a part of the package, while all the women's home games not on WEEI will continue to air on 1230 AM Emmanuel Radio. In addition, all broadcasts on WEEI will be streamed live on weei.com/holycross.
