WORCESTER, Mass. – Senior Matt Ginn (Lindsay, Ontario) from the men's ice hockey team is the recipient of the 2015 John A. Meegan Athletic Achievement Award. The award was presented at the 60th annual Holy Cross Varsity Club dinner, held at the Hogan Campus Center on Satruday, May 2.
A nominee for the 2015 Mike Richter Award as the top goaltender in the nation, Ginn was named first team All-Atlantic Hockey as a senior. During the 2014-2015 season, he posted a 2.10 goals against average and a .931 save percentage in 31 starts.
Ginn finished his career with a 59-55-13 record, a 2.50 goals against average, 3,587 saves, a .917 save percentage and eight shutouts in 129 games played. He became the all-time school record holder in career saves, save percentage, shutouts and games played by a goalie, while ranking second in goals against average and victories. In addition, Ginn broke the school single season records for saves (1,076 in 2013-2014), save percentage (.931 in 2014-2015) and shutouts (four in 2014-2015).
