The Lead: Senior co-captain Brianna Tabin (South Hadley, Mass.) and freshman Alanna Hitscherich (Sussex, N.J.) led the way for Holy Cross with first-place finishes in 100-meter dash (11.96) and triple jump (11.02m) as the Crusaders placed fourth overall out of nine schools with 132 points on Saturday afternoon at the UMass Track and Field Complex. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Tabin clocked a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.96 seconds and also placed fourth in the 200-meter at 25.81 seconds. 
• In the 400-meter, freshman Meghan Dietter (Sherman, Conn.) ran a season-best time of 1:00.38  and placed seventh with classmate Zoe Matherne (Camp Hill, Pa) crossing the finish line in eighth at 1:00.52, respectively. 
• The Crusaders posted three top-five finishes in the 800-meter with Carley leading the way in second place with a career-high time of 2:13.77. Junior Catherine Gildea (Milford, Conn.) followed Carley in fifth (2:17.98) with sophomore Rachel Sowinski (Mountain Top, Pa.) coming in behind at 2:19.48 and a seventh-place finish. 
• Senior co-captain Abigail Mitchell (Manchester, N.H.) clocked a fifth-place finish in the 1,500-meter run with a career-best time of 4:37.58. 
• In the field events, freshman Tori Zamarra (Manalapan, N.J.) placed eighth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.56) with Hitscherich rounding out the top-10 in 10th at 15.67. Senior Payton Shubrick (Springfield, Mass.) represented Holy Cross in the 400-meter hurdles and placed 13th with a time of 1:13.37. 
• The 4 x 400 meter relay team made up of senior co-captain Fiorella Johnson (Redding, Conn.), junior Oona Wood (Williamstown, Mass.), Shubrick and freshman Stefanie McArdle (South Glastonbury, Conn.) had the highest relay finish of the day, finishing second at 4:05.60, while the 4 x 100 meter relay team comprised of Tabin, seniors Katie Bobinski (Torrington, Conn.) and Marissa Romano (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J.) and sophomore Allison Maier (Orange, Conn.) took fourth with a time of 50.36. 
• The Crusaders took two second-place finishes in the field events, including senior co-captain Michelle McGahan (Acton, Mass.) at 3.52m and senior MaryGrace Brogioli (Wareham, Mass.) in the triple jump (10.73m). McGahan also placed fourth in the long jump as she cleared a career-best distance of 5.18 meters.
• Hitscherich had the top finish in the long jump, taking third with a distance of 5.39 meters. Senior Cailee Dean (Southhampton, Mass.) followed Hitscherich and McGahan as she posted a career-best distance of 5.13 meters.
• Senior co-captain Sarah Dahlstrom (Southborough, Mass.) took seventh in the shot put (11.62m), junior Elizabeth Provost (Adams, Mass.) threw a distance of 31.22 meters in the hammer throw to place 10th and sophomore Jennifer Kimball (South Weymouth, Mass.) took sixth in javelin, throwing a distance of 33.26 meters.
