The Lead: The Holy Cross women's indoor track and field team opened action at the 2015 ECAC Indoor Championship on Saturday morning as junior Caroline Carley (Barrington, Ill.) advanced to the final heat of the 1,000-meter run, as well as the 4 x 800 meter relay team comprised of Carley, junior Catherine Gildea (Milford, Conn.), freshman Zoe Matherne (Camp Hill, Pa.) and sophomore Rachel Sowinski (Mountain Top, Pa.).

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• Carley advanced to the final heat of the 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:50.52 and a ninth-place finish. 
• The 4 x 800 meter relay team of Carley, Gildea, Matherne and Sowinski finished sixth with a qualifying time of 8:57.07. 
• Senior co-captain Brianna Tabin (South Hadley, Mass.) also competed in the 60 and 200-meter dashes. In the 60-meter dash, she placed 14th with a time of 7.73 while placing 18th in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.03.

• The Crusaders will return to action in the 2015 ECAC Indoor Championship tomorrow, Mar. 8, at 9:45 a.m.
