The Lead: Holy Cross held off Connecticut College in the final minutes of the game, earning a 2-1 victory over the Camels on Tuesday night in New London, Conn.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Freshman Danielle Doherty (Wakefield, Mass.) got the Crusaders on the board first at 19:31 of the first period.
- Holy Cross outshot Connecticut College 10-5 in the first period.
- Holy Cross killed off three penalties in the second period to help keep it a 1-0 game.
- The Camels outshot the Crusaders 11-7 in the second.
- The Crusaders would go up 2-0 at 6:49 of the third period as freshman Julie Matthias (Thornton, Colo.) found the back of the net on the power play.
- Jordan Cross would make it 2-1 as she scored for the Camels at 13:39 of the third period.
- Connecticut College pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker in closing minutes, but the Crusaders were able to hold on for a 2-1 victory.
- The Camels outshot Holy Cross 12-3 in the third period.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Sophomore goaltender Tessie Salatas (Laval, Quebec) made 27 saves and allowed one goal to earn the win in net for Holy Cross.
- Katherine Chester made 18 saves in goal for Connecticut College.
- The Camels outshot the Crusaders 28-20.
- Holy Cross was 1-for-2 on the power play, while Connecticut College was 0-for-4.

- The Crusaders have now won five straight games.
