• The Lead: Freshman Lauren Rasmus (Atlanta, Ga.) and junior Alexa Eldracher (Woodbridge, Conn.) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, at the 2015 Rhode Island Pentathlon on Saturday morning in Kingston, R.I.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Eldracher posted an eighth place finish in the 60 m hurdles with a time of 9.82, while Rasmus was closely behind in ninth at 9.85.
• In the high jump, Rasmus came in sixth place with a mark of 1.55 m, with Eldracher tying for eighth place at 1.52 m.
• Eldracher would place fifth in the shot put at a distance of 9.53 m, while Rasmus earned a 12th place mark at 7.92 m.
• In the long jump, Eldracher earned a fourth place finish as she posted a mark of 5.19 m. Rasmus would come in eighth at a distance of 5.06 m.
• Rasmus would earn a fifth place finish in the 800 m run to close out the event with a time of 2:30.79, with Eldracher coming in 10th at 2:41.33.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Rasmus came in seventh place overall in the pentathlon with a score of 3071, while Eldracher placed eighth with 3059 points.
• Keiko Hector of Rhode Island placed first overall with a score of 3618, with teammate Janel Conley closely behind in second place with 3604 points.
