THE BASICS:

• The Lead: Junior tight end Lucas Nikolaisen caught the first two touchdown passes of his collegiate career, but the Holy Cross football team was defeated by Lehigh 51-38 at Goodman Stadium.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
• Junior wide out Brendan Flaherty led Holy Cross with nine receptions for 121 yards, while senior wide receiver Kalif Raymond had seven catches for 106 yards and a touchdown.
• Junior quarterback Peter Pujals completed 27 of 55 passes on the day for 311 yards and three touchdowns, and junior tailback Gabe Guild rushed for 56 yards and a score on just four carries.
• The Mountain Hawks finished the game with 543 yards of total offense, including 255 rushing yards, while the Crusaders recorded 381 total yards.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Lehigh opened the scoring at the 14:43-mark of the first quarter on a 61-yard touchdown pass from Brad Mayes to Derek Knott.
• After senior placekicker Connor Fitzgerald kicked a 37-yard field goal, the Mountain Hawks increased their lead to 14-3 on a 10-yard scoring run by Nick Shafnisky.
• Dom Bragalone had a five-yard touchdown run for Lehigh early in the second quarter, before Pujals found Nikolaisen with a six-yard scoring strike to make the score 21-10.
• But the Mountain Hawks added three more touchdowns late in the quarter to take a 41-10 lead into the locker room at halftime.
• In the third quarter, the Crusaders scored on a 31-yard pass from Pujals to Raymond and a one-yard jump pass from sophomore tailback Diquan Walker to Nikolaisen, while Lehigh kicked a field goal to make the score 44-24.
• Holy Cross added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter on an eight-yard pass from Pujals to junior wide out Jake Wieczorek and a 38-yard run by Guild, with the final margin being 51-38.
