Brendan Flaherty Named Crusader Of The Week

WORCESTER, Mass. – Junior wide receiver Brendan Flaherty has been named the GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week, for competition from Oct. 19-25. Flaherty helped lead the Holy Cross football team to a 42-0 victory over Lafayette on Saturday.

During the win over the Leopards, Flaherty caught seven passes for 95 yards and four touchdowns. He tied the school single-game record with four touchdowns receptions, a feat which had been accomplished only twice before – by Chris Summers against Lafayette in 1993 and by Ari Confesor at Dartmouth in 2002. Flaherty's scores came on passes of 34 yards and 28 yards in the second quarter, and 19 yards and five yards in the third quarter.

On the season, Flaherty has a Patriot League-leading 63 catches for 601 yards and 10 scores. He is currently tied for fourth place on the Holy Cross single-season list for touchdown receptions, while being tied for ninth in total receptions. Over the course of his collegiate career, Flaherty has now caught 95 passes for 934 yards and 11 scores.

Flaherty sat down with GoHolyCross.com's Catherine Rutter and discussed several topics.

Check out what Flaherty had to say here.

The Crusaders (3-4 overall, 1-2 Patriot League) return to action on Saturday, Oct. 31, when they play host to Bryant (4-3 overall, 2-1 Northeast Conference) at 1:05 p.m.
