HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sophomore Isabela Bagi (Branford, Conn.) and senior Madison Schneider (Fort Myers, Fla.) each took shots as Bagi recovered Schneider's shot and found Reilly open on the left side. Reilly took a wrist shot as it found the back right corner of the net past New England College goalie Lauren Hopps, giving the Crusaders the early 1-0 lead (7:37).
  • Junior Mackenzie Boardman (Anchorage, Alaska) recovered a shot by senior Meaghan Sullivan (Brockton, Mass.) as Sullivan found Klimasewiski open by the left side of the net as she snuck the puck underneath Hopps to put Holy Cross up 2-0 (9:07).
  • At the end of the first period, Holy Cross outshot New England College 19-2.
  • Neither New England College nor Holy Cross scored in the second stanza as the Crusaders once again 13-5.
  • Holy Cross continued to power their way past the Pilgrims, scoring three times in the third period.
  • The Crusaders opened the flood gates in the third period as Schneider received a rebound off a Holy Cross faceoff won by junior Kati Goguen (Acton, Mass.) and found Reilly open once again in front of the net as she slipped the puck through the legs of Hopps for her second goal of the game. The Crusaders led the Pilgrims 3-0 (2:35).
  • Freshman Kara Violette (Biddeford, Maine) recovered a shot by Klimasewiski and found Klimasewiski open at the top left corner of the circle, knocking in her second goal of the game to give Holy Cross the 4-0 advantage.
  • O'Donnell netted her first goal of the year from the right hand corner of the net, blindsiding Hopps as the puck landed in the left hand corner of the net with assists from Goguen and senior Chelsea Monahan (Cherry Hill, N.J.), sealing the 5-0 Crusader victory.
