  • The Lead: Lehigh's Tim Kempton posted a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds, as the Mountain Hawks defeated the Holy Cross men's basketball team 69-64 at Stabler Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Lehigh opened the day by scoring the first four points, and held a 10-3 lead three minutes into the game.
  • Holy Cross was able to trim the margin down to four points (15-11) at the 15:00-mark, before the Mountain Hawks used a 9-0 run to build their lead up to double figures (24-11).
  • The Crusaders would get no closer than nine points for the remainder of the half, as Lehigh went on to take a 44-28 advantage into the locker room.
  • The Mountain Hawks continued their strong play early in the second half, extending their lead to 20 points (58-38) with 14:25 left to play.
  • But Holy Cross then stepped up its play on the defensive end, holding Lehigh to just four points in the next 10:34 while trimming the margin down to eight points (62-54).
  • The Crusaders would eventually make it a four-point game in the final minute, but the Mountain Hawks were able to hit five of 10 free throws in the final 60 seconds to hold on for the win.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Freshman forward Mitchell Hahn (Fremont, Neb.) led Holy Cross with 12 points and five rebounds on the day.
  • Senior guard Justin Burrell (Dumfries, Va.) finished with 11 points and seven assists, while sophomore forward Malachi Alexander (Bowie, Md.) added 11 points and three rebounds.
  • Lehigh made 48.9 percent of its field goals on the day (23 of 47), but only connected on 54.8 percent of its foul shots (17 of 31).
  • Holy Cross made just 36.1 percent of its shots from the floor (22 of 61), including 25.7 percent from three-point range (nine of 35).
