•  The Lead: Freshman Hannah Jeter (Eden Prairie, Minn.) and junior co-captain Dennis Muldoon (Weymouth, Mass.) led the Crusaders as the top finishers as Holy Cross came in third of three teams in a dual match against New Hampshire and Providence. 

 HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jeter was the top finisher for the women's team, crossing the finish line in sixth place in the 5K with a time of 17:58 in her first collegiate race. 
• Freshman Zoe Matherne (Camp Hill, Pa.) followed with a 16th place finish with a time of 18:37. 
• Muldoon was the top finisher for the men, placing sixth in the 6K with a time of 18:51. 
• Senior co-captain John Cicchitti (Warminster, Pa.) followed Muldoon in tenth with a  time of 19:02.

 INSIDE THE NUMBERS 

• Muldoon improved his time from last season's dual match at New Hampshire where he placed 29th. 
• Cicchitti also improved his time from last season's race, moving from a 16th place finish to 10th place. 
• The top finishers for the women were freshman Jeter and Matherne, and sophomore Rachel Sowinski (Mountain Top, Pa.), finishing in 16th (18:41).
• Junior co-captain Caroline Carley (Barrington, Ill.) finished in 19th (18:44) as sophomore Mary Welsh (Manhasset, N.Y.) finished one second behind in 20th with a time of 18:45. 

 BEYOND THE BOXSCORE 

• In the women's race, Providence and New Hampshire tied with a score of 30. 

 UP NEXT 

• The men and women's cross country teams will return to action on Sept. 6 at the Nassaney Invitational hosted by Bryant at 9:00 a.m.
