Crusaders Post 74-57 Win At Albany

  • The Lead: Freshman forward Mitchell Hahn (Fremont, Neb.) scored a career-high 22 points, to lead the Holy Cross men's basketball team to a 74-57 victory over Albany at the SEFCU Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Holy Cross held a 6-2 lead early on, before Albany scored the next seven points to claim the lead.
  • The Great Danes would later hold an 18-16 advantage with 10:00 remaining in the first half, before the Crusaders went on a 16-3 run over the next three minutes to claim a double-digit lead (32-21).
  • Holy Cross would lead by as many as 15 points late in the half, before taking a 41-28 advantage into the locker room.
  • The Crusaders started the second half strong, using a quick 12-5 run to extend their lead to 20 points (53-33).
  • Holy Cross eventually led by as many as 24 points (63-39) with 10:49 remaining, before eventually claiming a 17-point victory.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

  • Hahn hit eight of nine field goal attempts on the night, including all six of his shots from three-point range.
  • Sophomore guard Anthony Thompson (Glenn Dale, Md.) finished the game with 15 points, and made all five of his three-point attempts.
  • Senior forward Malcolm Miller (Laytonville, Md.) added 11 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
  • Senior guard Justin Burrell (Dumfries, Va.) chipped in with 10 points, six assists and four steals.
  • The Crusaders made 54.5 percent of their field goal attempts on the night (24 of 44), while hitting a season-best 68.4 percent from three-point range (13 of 19).
  • The Great Danes connected on just 39.5 percent of their field goals (17 of 43) and 33.3 percent of their three-pointers (six of 18).
  • Albany was led by Sam Rowley with 14 points and five rebounds.
