GORHAM, Maine – Sophomore Mackenzie Boardman (Anchorage, Alaska) posted a two goal performance in the 3-0 win over Southern Maine today from the USM Ice Arena. The winning streak for Holy Cross continues to three games. The Crusaders improve to 12-5-1 overall and 7-2-1 in the ECAC East. The Huskies drop to 9-9-1 on the season and 6-4-0 in the conference.

Holy Cross notched the first goal of the game on a power play. Junior Rachel Miller (Jackson, Mich.) posted the goal past the Huskies goaltender. It was Miller's seventh of the season and now has a total of 13 points. Junior Francesca Panarelli (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and senior Kylee Sullivan (Arlington, Mass.) earned the assists. Boardman scored her first goal of the game 13:07 into the first period. Panarelli and Sullivan were credited with the assists. All of Panarelli's points this season have been assists as she has seven total. Through 18 games played this season Sullivan has a total of eight points.

Holy Cross took a 2-0 lead at the end of one with both goals coming off of power plays. Eleven total shots were taken in the first period as the Crusaders held the edge 8-3.

The Crusaders were not done as Boardman tallied her second goal midway through the second period. Boardman now has a total of six points on the season. Holy Cross took 12 shots in the second stanza while Southern Maine mustered three.

Junior Krista Manzanares (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) earned here fourth shutout of the season as she made a total of 11 saves between the pipes. Manzanares now holds a mark of 6-3-0 on the year. Liz Bergstrom recorded a total of 22 saves in net. 

Holy Cross finished the game with a 25-11 edge in shots on goal while converting two of four power-play opportunities. The Crusaders killed off all three Southern Maine opportunities with the extra skater.  

Holy Cross returns to the ice as it takes on Castleton State on Friday, Jan. 31 at the Hart Center.  Face-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
