BURRILLVILLE, R.I. – The women's ice hockey team came away with a 2-0 shutout against Nichols on the road tonight at Levy Rink in conference action. The Crusaders improve to 10-5-1 overall and 5-2-1 in ECAC East play while the Bison fall to 3-11-0 and 2-5-0 in the conference.

Junior Rachel Miller (Jackson, Mich.) posted her sixth goal of the season as the Crusaders scored the first goal three minutes into the game. The assist was credited to junior Nicole Giannino (Bay Shore, N.Y ) for her 12th of the season. A total of 20 shots were taken in the first period. Holy Cross garnered 13 compared to Nichols' seven.

At the end of the second period the score remained 1-0 Holy Cross. The Bison held the edge on faceoffs 15-14 through two periods.

Senior Kylee Sullivan (Arlington, Mass.) scored 3:51 into the final stanza to give the Crusaders a 2-0 margin her fifth goal of the season. Miller and freshman Izzy Bagi (Branford, Conn.) earned the assists. It was Miller's fifth and Bagi's seventh on the year.

Junior goaltender Krista Manzanares (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) earned her fifth victory between the pipes making a total of 12 saves.  It was Manzanares' third shutout this season.  Junior Tori Gianformaggio suffered the loss as she stopped 36 shots in net.

Holy Cross will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 24 on the road against Plymouth State in conference play. The puck will drop at 6:00 p.m.
