Holy Cross Women's Ice Hockey Shuts Out Connecticut College, 3-0

NEW LONDON, Conn. - A career-first goal and assist by freshman Meghan Reynolds (Marion, Mass.) led the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team to a 3-0 victory over Connecticut College at Dayton Arena Tuesday night. With the victory, Holy Cross remains undefeated and improves to 7-0-0, while Connecticut College falls to 1-4-0.

Reynolds scored her first career goal and the eventual game winner at the 10:08 mark in the first period. Reynolds picked up her first career assist eight minutes later when senior Wendy Nobrega (Barrington, R.I.) netted her first goal of the season to give Holy Cross a 2-0 lead.

After a scoreless second period, junior Jocelyn Kratchmer (Watrous, Saskatchewan) scored in the 11th minute of the third period to give Holy Cross a 3-0 lead.

Junior goalie Monique Gallant (Antigonish, Nova Scotia) earned her second shutout of the season, allowing no goals and recording 18 saves. Connecticut College goalie Sara Christopher allowed three goals and recorded 38 saves. Gallant improves to 3-0-0, while Christopher falls to 1-4-0. Holy Cross out shot Connecticut College 41-18.

Holy Cross will continue action on the road, traveling to Northfield, Vt. to take on ECAC opponent No. 8 Norwich on Friday, Dec. 4 for a 4:00 p.m. game.
