Roth enters her fifth season as the associate head coach of the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team in 2023-24.
She was recently announced as an assistant coach for the U.S. U-18 Women's National Team for the 2023-24 season and will coach at the 2024 IIHF World Championships in Switzerland. Roth, previously, served as an assistant coach for the U.S. U-18 Women's National Team and won a gold medal at the 2020 IIHF World Championships in Bratislava, Slovakia. In addition to her national team experience, she was selected for the Boston Bruins Diversity and Inclusion Scouting and Mentorship in 2021-22.
Roth came to Holy Cross after serving as the head coach of St. Norbert College’s NCAA Division III women’s ice hockey program for the last four years. She guided the Green Knights to an appearance in the NCHA Championship game in 2016. At St. Norbert, Roth was in charge of all aspects of the program including designing and executing practice and game plans, managing the budget and business operations, developing assistant coaches as well as her student-athletes, and heading recruitment and retention efforts, just to name a few. She also served as a Western Region Representative for the NCAA Division III Women’s Ice Hockey Regional Advisory Committee as well as on the American Hockey Coaches Association’s National Issues Committee.
Prior to her time at St. Norbert, Roth had two stints as an assistant coach at Providence College, first from 2006-2010 and then again from 2012-2015. She helped lead the Friars to a Hockey East Regular Season Championship in 2010. Roth also spent time as an assistant coach at Cornell University from 2010-2012 and helped lead the team to two Frozen Four appearances. She got her first coaching job as the head coach of the Shattuck St. Mary’s School’s U-16 team in 2004.
Roth first coached at USA Hockey Player Development camps in 2006 and has been involved in numerous camps ever since. She remains highly involved in the USA Hockey Central District. In addition, Roth coached at the U-18 Select Camp and will served as a U-18 Women's National Team assistant coach for the 2019-2020 season, which culminated in the IIHF World Championship in January 2020.
As a member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, Roth played with the Under-22 team as well as at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships in China in 2003.
Roth is a 2004 graduate of Providence College and earned a bachelor’s degree in social science. She was a four-year member of the women’s ice hockey team and served as an assistant captain and co-captain during her junior and senior seasons. She helped the team to an ECAC East Tournament Championship in 2002 as well as two Hockey East Tournament Championships in 2003 and 2004.
She went on to earn her masters in sports management from the State University of New York – Cortland in 2013.
Roth and her wife, Erin, reside in Worcester.
