Senior captain Molly O’Connor of the Holy Cross women’s track and field team has been selected as the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for Apr. 28 – May 4.

Throughout the two-day Patriot League Outdoor Championship hosted by Holy Cross on May 2-3, O’Connor broke school records and picked up points every time she touched the track. She broke the outdoor 400m school record in back-to-back days of the Championship meet and helped both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams to new school records. The captain and members of the 4x100m relay took gold and were named First Team All-Patriot League.

O’Connor started out day one, breaking the 400m dash school record in the prelim with a time of 55.01, previously held by fellow senior captain Haley Murphy (55.14), to earn a spot in the final. The next day, she reset the record, crossing the finish at 54.81 for sixth in the final. She then helped the 4x100m relay to victory for the gold medal and a new record of 46.00. Isabella DiMare '19, Allie Smiley '20, Sarah Friess '19 and Alexandra Curtin '19 previously held the record (46.43) on May 4, 2019, at the same meet. She finished out the meet with the 4x400m relay team, making another historic run of 3:45.49 for fourth place. She was a member of the previous record-holding relay team, including Murphy, junior captain Alex Lusby and former Crusader Kiley Ronan ‘24, who finished the race in 3:48.49 on May 11, 2024, at the NEICAAA Outdoor Championship.

The Holy Cross track and field teams will return to action for the NEICAAA Outdoor Championship hosted by UMass Amherst in Amherst, Mass., from May 9-10 at the UMass Track & Field Complex.
