Sophomore designated hitter Sean Scanlon of the Holy Cross baseball team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week, for game action between March 13 to 19.
In three contests on March 18 and 19 against Seton Hall, Scanlon batted .600 (6-for-10), and drew two walks and was hit by a pitch twice for an on-base percentage of .714.
He doubled twice, posting a slugging percentage of .800. He went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two doubles in Holy Cross' win over the Pirates on Saturday.
So far this year, Scanlon is hitting a team-leading .353 and ranks second in the Patriot League with an on-base percentage of .482. He is tied for the Patriot League lead with eight doubles on the year, and also has recorded a home run and 14 RBI.
Scanlon and the Crusaders are set to host the University of Massachusetts on Tuesday, March 21.
