Senior Avery LaBarbera of the Holy Cross women’s basketball team has been named the Hilton Garden Inn Crusader of the Week for Feb. 21 through Feb. 27.
LaBarbera powered Holy Cross to a 2-0 week and at least a share of the Patriot League regular-season title. The senior guard averaged 24.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 48.6% (18-of-38) from the floor, 42.9% (6-of-14) from deep, and 85.7% (6-of-7) from the charity stripe.
In the win at Colgate, LaBarbera recorded game-highs in points (22) and rebounds (14) while handing out five assists. At Army on Saturday, LaBarbera dropped a game-best 26 points with nine rebounds and a contest-high eight assists while shooting 50% (9-of-18) in the Crusaders' win.
On the season, LaBarbera paces the Crusaders in scoring (16.0), rebounds (9.7), assists (4.2), and steals (1.5) per game while converting 89.0% (73-of-82) percent of her free throw attempts.
