Staff Headshot Day Summer 2025

Mikal Myers

Mikal Myers joins the Holy Cross football staff as the team’s defensive tackles coach ahead of the 2026 season.

Myers spent the last two seasons (2024-25) as the defensive line coach at the University at Albany, where he contributed to the scheme and game plan of a defensive unit that accumulated 44 sacks over his tenure.

Before his time at UAlbany, Myers served as a defensive line coach for the University of New Haven, where he assisted in developing the defensive game strategy and designing effective and efficient training and practices for both the team and individual student-athletes. Myers conducted film review from practices and games, tracked and evaluated the NCAA transfer portal, and served as the team’s pro liaison. Myers also spent time with Maine as a defensive tackles coach and with American International College as a graduate assistant linebackers coach prior to his tenure at New Haven.

Prior to his coaching journey, Myers was a standout defensive lineman for the University of Connecticut. In five seasons with the Huskies, he played in 45 games while making 15 starts. He was named a team captain his final season, where he registered 51 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and two forced fumbles. He was the 2016 recipient of the Kendall Madison Award, given to a strong player whose dedication, hard work, and outstanding citizenship best exemplify the strong spirit of the UConn Huskies. Myers received an invitation to the 2017 College Gridiron Showcase and an invitation to the Baltimore Ravens camp that same year.

Myers earned his Bachelor of Arts in communications from UConn in 2016.
