Janine Weber is in her fourth season as an assistant coach with the Holy Cross women’s ice hockey team in 2026-2027.

During the 2025-2026 campaign, Weber helped Holy Cross to the Hockey East semifinals for the first time in program history, with the team posting an overall record of 19-13-3 and a 10-11-3 mark in Hockey East play. The Crusaders squad broke school records for the most Hockey East victories (10) and most Hockey East points (37) in a single season, while their 19 overall wins tied for the fifth-most in program history. Holy Cross also earned the first national ranking for any women’s program in school history, while Naemi Herzig won a bronze medal playing for Switzerland at the 2026 Olympics.

In 2024-2025, Weber helped the team to 10 overall victories and 25 points in the conference standings. Previously in 2023-2024, the Crusaders posted their first-ever Hockey East Tournament victory (4-2 over Boston University), in addition to defeating two ranked opponents in No. 13 Northeastern (1-0) and No. 12 Vermont (3-2).

Weber joined the Crusaders after spending the 2022-2023 season as an assistant and development coach for HC Rhode Island, a junior hockey team in the Eastern Hockey League. She spent six years as a development coach with Overspeed Hockey, where she planned and conducted hockey skills development sessions and skating development programs.

A native of Innsbruck, Austria, Weber earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Vienna in 2013 and her master’s degree in urban teaching from Providence College in 2014. At Providence, she played as a fifth-year senior, collecting 11 points on six goals and five assists.

Weber had a decorated playing career, making appearances as high as the world stage, where she represented her country as a member of the Austrian National Team from 2008-2021. After her collegiate career at Providence concluded in 2014, she played professionally with the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League in 2014-201,5 before moving over to the National Women’s Hockey League. Weber also played for the New York Riveters (NWHL 2015-2017), the Boston Pride (NWHL 2017-2018) and the Connecticut Whale (NWHL/PHF 2020-2023).
