Holy Cross Athletics

2015-2016:

• Competed in eight individual events including the 100 and 200 backstroke, 100 and 200 IM, 100 and 200 butterfly, 100 and 500 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke
• Also competed in the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relay, as well as the 200 and 400 medley relay
• Recorded season-best times in the 100 backstroke (1:05.11) and 100 butterfly (1:04.14) at the Patriot League Tournament (2/19), in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.95), 100 freestyle (1:01.62) and 100 IM (1:10.79) at the Assumption Pentathlon (10/3), in the 200 IM (2:23.39) and 200 butterfly (2:22.38) at the Harald Anderson Invitational (11/21) and in the 500 freestyle (5:39.33) at the New England Catholic Invitational (10/17)

2014-2015:

• Competed in nine individual events including the 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, 100 and 200 butterfly and 100, 200 and 400 individual medley
• Also competed on the 200 and 400 medley and 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relay teams
• Posted career-best times in the 50 freestyle (27.79) at the New England Catholic Invitational, the 100 backstroke (1:05.11) and 100 freestyle (58.20) at the Patriot League Championship and  in the 100 butterfly (1:03.27) at the Harold Anderson Invitational. 

2013-2014:

• Competed in nine individual events including the 50,100, and 200 butterfly, 100, 200 and 400 IM, 100 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke
• Member of the 200 and 400 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay teams. 

Before Holy Cross:

• A four-year member of the varsity swimming team at Warwick Veterans Memorial High School under head coach Tamra Gallo, serving as team captain her junior and senior year
• Held records in every butterfly, IM, distance freestyle and backstroke event she swam in
• Earned Swimmer of the Year recognition in the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 seasons
• Named Division III Swimmer of the Year
• Named Athlete of the Week in 2009 and nominated as the Top Female Athlete for the school for the Wendy’s Scholarship in 2012
• Was presented the award for Top Female Athlete at her school in 2012
• Also swam for the Kent County YMCA in the SENECY league under head coach Jason Buchanan, serving as team captain in 2013
• Her team won the SENECY Championship from 2009-2013
• Holds the record for the 1650 freestyle and was a New England Qualifier (2009-2013)
• Also was a three-year member of her high school’s varsity soccer team under head coach Tom Flanders and a four-year member of her school’s track and field team under head coach Chip McGair, running in the 1500 and 3000-meter events
• Named Track and Field Athlete of the Year (2012) and team captain her junior and senior seasons
• Earned All-City honors and was a State Qualifier, earning medals at the JV States, as well as the Divisions and Class Championships her junior and senior year

Personal:

• Daughter of Regina Hand
• Has one brother (David Evans)
• Relatives who graduated from Holy Cross include great uncle Edward Hand ’56 and cousin Joey Kingsley ’08. Her cousin Ryan Kingsley currently attends Holy Cross and is a member of the Class of 2017 
• Majoring in Psychology and Studio Art
