Kate Magill enters her second season as an assistant coach for the Holy Cross swimming & diving teams in 2024-25.
Magill comes from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst where she was an assistant swimming and diving coach for the 2022-23 season. She had a role in student-athlete recruitment and assisted the head coach in fostering positive student-athlete experiences, academic excellence and cultivating team culture.
A standout college athlete, Magill competed for the Fordham women’s swimming and diving team from 2017-2021. A one-time team captain, Magill helped motivate team members to maintain competitive drive strong work ethics to achieve short and long term goals. A three-time Atlantic 10 Championship team member and a 2020 Atlantic 10 Second Team honoree, Magill also assisted in content creation for all team specific social media channels.
An All-American Scholar Athlete (2015-2017), and four time Atlantic 10 Commissioners Honor Roll selection, Magill was part of the Fordham Athletics Leadership Academy conducted under the Janssen Sports Leadership Center from September 2017 to May 2021. The Fordham Athletics Leadership Academy aimed to cultivate, test and aid the school’s student-athletes and coaches as they work to becoming leaders in athletics, academics and life.
Magill also has experience working as an admissions officer for the College of Engineering & Design at Johnson & Wales University, the head instructor of Pods Swimming in East Providence, R.I. and as a lifeguard at Narragansett Surf Rescue in Narragansett, R.I.
She graduated from Fordham in May 2021 with a bachelor of arts in new media & digital design and a minor in marketing.
