Zach Hubbard enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Holy Cross baseball team in 2022.
Before joining the Holy Cross in 2021, Hubbard previously spent five seasons as a member of the coaching staff at Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, Calif., including two seasons as associate head coach. He also served as the team’s recruiting coordinator, infield instructor and third base coach, while assisting with hitting. He coached and developed a pair of All-Americans during his tenure, including ninth-round MLB draft pick Tanner Nishioka in 2017, in addition to five All-West Region selections and five All-SCIAC honorees.
Prior to his time at Pomona-Pitzer, Hubbard spent one year at Bard College as the infield coach and assisted as the hitting coach; during his time at Bard, he coached four All-Liberty League players. He also spent two years at Lake Sumter State College, where he coached the infield, assisted as the hitting coach and acted as the first base coach.
Hubbard played two years as a second baseman for Lake Sumter State College in Leesburg, Florida. He earned the school’s Male Athlete of the Year award in 2011, and was part of the first team in school history to make the Florida State Tournament. Hubbard also played baseball for one year at High Point University, and finished his playing career at Rhode Island College.
Hubbard earned his Bachelor’s degree in sport and exercise science from University of Central Florida in 2014.
