Biography
2012-2013:Coxswain of the second varsity eight in all nine springregattas…the second varsity eight defeated Smith (March 30)and placed first versus Rutgers and George Mason (April27)…second varsity eight placed second at the Patriot LeagueChampionship (May 17), which was the best ever result for a HolyCross second varsity eight boat at the Patriot LeagueChampionship…named to the Patriot League Academic HonorRoll.
2011-2012: Thecoxswain of the second varsity eight in all nine springregattas..the second varsity eight won races against Simmons andSmith (March 31); Bates, Trinity, Wellesley, WPI and Rochester(April 1); William Smith and Ithaca (April 21); and Connecticut(April 22)...Crusaders placed fifth out of 28 boats at the KnechtCup (April 14-15)...second varsity eight earned a third placefinish at the Patriot League Championship (April 29) and a secondplace finish at the New England Championship (May 5)...named to thePatriot League Academic Honor Roll.
2010-2011: The coxswain of the novice eight at the40th Schuylkill Regatta (Oct. 30) as the team tied for first out of39 teams for the points trophy…coxswain for the novice eightin eight spring regattas…part of the novice eight which wondual-races with New Hampshire (April 2) and Simmons (April 3),finished first in a race against Boston College and Connecticut(April 17), placed fifth at the New England Championship (April 30)and finished fourth at the ECAC National Invitational (May 8).
Before Holy Cross: Member of the Essex Rowing Clubfor Travis Gardner and Mike Irwin…member of the novice eightboat that won the NEMA Championship…also a four-year memberand senior captain of the varsity soccer team at Presentation ofMary Academy…member of the student council and NationalHonor Society.
Personal: Daughter of Davis Giangrande and KarenGallagher Giangrande…has two brothers (Peter and Jason) andone sister (Liza)...a Psychology major.
