Holy Cross Athletics

Charles Putnam is in his16th season as coach of the Holy Cross women's novice team in2014-2015.

A 1974 graduate of Trinity College,Putam has more than 20 years of experience as a high school teacherand rowing coach. He was the head rowing coach at the PomfretSchool in Pomfret, Conn. from 1978-82 before moving to Buckingham,Browne and Nichols in Cambridge, Mass., where he coached until1986. Prior to joining the Crusader staff, Putam served as the headrowing coach at the St. Mark's School in Southboro, Mass. from1989-1994. Putnam's more recent successes have included a bronzefinish at the New England Championships, and a silver finish at theECAC National Regatta in the women's novice eight in 2006. Putnamtook a year off from coaching in 2012-2013 and returned to theprogram in 2013-2014.

Putnam lives in Southboro withhis wife Barbara.
