Anna Yamamoto is in her third season as an assistant women’s rowing coach at the College of the Holy Cross in 2023-2024.
Yamamoto joined the Crusaders after spending six years as an assistant coach for the Saugatuck Rowing Club in Westport, Conn. She was the first varsity assistant for the girls’ team, in addition to serving as an assistant for the masters’ team. Yamamoto coached boats which won two youth national championships, in the women's lightweight eight in 2016 and the women's under-17 eight in 2021.In addition, she guided numerous boats to Northeast Regional championships, including the under-17 eight (2021), the lightweight four (2018) and the lightweight eight (2016). Yamamoto also spent time as an associate for WinTech Racing in Bridgeport, Conn., from 2018-2021.
Prior to her time with Saugatuck Rowing, Yamamoto was as assistant coach for the Essex Rowing Club in Methuen, Mass. She was previously the head girls’ coach for the Central Crew Club in Manchester, N.H., and spent time as a board member for Manchester Community Rowing.
Yamamoto received her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of San Diego in 2012. She was a four-year member of the Toreros’ rowing team as a coxswain.
