Kelsey Christensen completed her third season at Holy Cross as an assistant softball coach in 2020-21. Christensen served as the team's pitching and outfield coach, while also assisting with the hitters.

During the abbreviated 2021 season, Christensen again led one of the best pitching staffs in the Patriot League. The Crusaders posted a 3.21 staff ERA with junior Kelly Nelson leading the way with a career-best 1.84. Nelson earned All-Patriot League second team honors as well as an NFCA All-Northeast Region second team selection, becoming the first Crusader in program history to be named All-Region twice.

During her first season with the Crusaders in 2019, Christensen helped the Holy Cross pitchers to a staff ERA of 3.31, 340 strikeouts, and an opponent batting average of .260. Christensen saw freshman pitcher Kelly Nelson set a new program record for strikeouts in a single season (208), the fifth-most ever by a Patriot League pitcher.

Christensen comes to Holy Cross after spending the 2017 and 2018 seasons as the volunteer assistant coach at Michigan State University. She helped the Spartans to a 26-26 overall record and a trip to the Big Ten Semifinals in 2018. At Michigan State, Christensen worked with the pitchers and served as a first base coach. While at Michigan State, Christensen also completed her master’s degree in sport coaching and leadership- kinesiology.

As an undergraduate, Christensen played for Holy Cross and was a four-time selection to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Christensen earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from Holy Cross in 2016.
