Holy Cross Athletics

2016-2017:

• Competed in the weight throw, hammer throw and javelin events
• Posted career-best distance in the weight throw (12.69m) at the Maine and Holy Cross Men Dual Meet (2/4)
• Recorded season-best distance in the hammer throw (39.31m) at the Holy Cross Invitational (4/22)
• Finished seventh in the weight throw (12.67m) at the Boston University Season Opener (12/3)
• Also finished eighth in the weight throw (12.28m) at the UNH vs Holy Cross Meet (1/21)
• Placed fifth in the javelin (40.35m) at the Holy Cross Invitational (4/22)
• Recorded a sixth place finish in the hammer throw (36.61m) at the Stonehill Skyhawk Invite (4/29)
• Named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll

2015-2016:

• Competed in the shot put, weight throw and javelin events
• Recorded career-best distances in the shot put (10.69m) at New Hampshire (1/16), in the  weight throw (10.59m) at New Hampshire (1/16) and in the javelin (47.73m) at the Skyhawk Invitational (4/30)

2014-2015:  

• Competed in shot put, weight throw and javelin
• Cleared season-best distances in shot put (10.28m) at the Holy Cross Invitational, in the weight throw (8.96m) versus Maine and javelin (45.68m) at the UNH Outdoor Season Opener.

Before Holy Cross:

• Threw javelin for two years on the Boston College High School varsity indoor track and field team under coach John Normant
• Named Scholar Athlete in 2013 and 2014
• Competed in one year of outdoor track and field and was named Scholar Athlete in 2014
• Member of National Honor Society.

Personal:

• Son of Daniel and Jane O’Brien and has one brother, Cole
• Majoring in economics.
