Went 0-8 in singles matches and 0-7 in doubles matches … split time between No. 4 and No. 5 singles as well as No. 2 and No. 3 doubles … named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

2013-2014 (Sophomore):
Went 2-6 in singles matches (0-6 dual match play and 2-0 tournament play) and 3-8 in doubles action (2-7 in dual match play and 1-1 in tournament play) … played at No. 5 and No. 6 singles … won the flight E championship at the Connecticut College Tournament … played and No. 2 and No. 3 doubles … went 0-5 with Jimmy Ye, 1-1 with Elmar Lutz, 1-0 with Pat O’Shea, 0-1 with Sean Frebes and 1-1 with Brandon Ynayan … earned first career doubles victory paired with O’Shea in an 8-2 win over Coast Guard in No. 3 doubles … closed out regular season with an 8-4 No. 3 doubles win over UMass Dartmouth with Lutz … named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

High School:
Four-year member of the John Bapst Memorial High School varsity tennis team, playing under head coach Gene Matthews…captained team as junior and senior…individually undefeated with a 14-0 record in the 2011 season…earned team MVP honors after the 2012 season…held a 38-4 overall singles record … was also a member of the alpine skiing team for two years.

Personal:
Son of Regina and Edward Volkwein…has two sisters (Katherine, Ann, Elizabeth)…father played sprint football at Princeton … majoring in political science.
