Holy Cross Athletics

2014-2015:

• Competed in 12 individual events including the 100 backstroke, 50, 100, 200, 500, 800 and 1,000 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100, 200 and 400 individual medley and 100 butterfly
• Also competed on the 200 and 400 freestyle and the 200 and 400 medley relay teams
• Swam career-best times in 500 freestyle (5:21.55) versus Springfield, 1,000 freestlye (11:24.98) versus Fairfield, 100 backstroke (1:04.83) at the Holy Cross Pentathlon and in the 400 individual medley (4:41.49) at the Harold Anderson Invitational
• Named to Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. 

2013-2014: 

• Competed in seven individual events including the 50, 100, 200 and 800 freestyle , 200 and 400 IM, 200 backstroke
• Member of the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relay and 200 and 400 medley relay teams
• Member of the 400 freestyle relay team who set a new Holy Cross record (3:11.54) at the Patriot League Championship. 

Before Holy Cross: 

• Four-year member of the Bishop Stang High School varsity swimming team under head coach Dave Ponte
• Named team captain senior year
• Team won the Southern Conference championship in 2010 and 2012
• Named team MVP in 2012 and a Southern Conference All-Star in 2011 and 2012
• Also named a Boston Globe All-Scholastic Athlete and Standard Times Swimmer of the Year in 2012
• Also swam for the South Coast Aquatics club team under head coach Dave Ponte.

• Son of James and Elizabeth Kearns
• Mother graduated from Holy Cross in 1980
• Has one brother (James) and one sister (Sarah)
• Sarah (Class of 2011) was a diver on the Holy Cross swimming and diving team.
• Majoring in Biology.
