Holy Cross Athletics

2017-2018:

• Took first in the 3m diving with a final score of 212.10 against Iona
• Placed first on the boards in the 3m diving with a score of 220:28 against Fairfield
• Scored a 202.58 in the 3m diving event for a first place performance. In the 1m dive, Nugent placed first with a score of 233.85 against Providence  

2016-2017:

• Took fourth in the one meter dive with a score of 207.70, while finishing fourth in the three meter dive with a score of 173.20 at the New England Catholic Invitational
• Against Fairfield, notched 202.20 points for first place in the one meter dive.
• Earned Diver of the Meet at the Worcester City Championships with a first place and a season-best score of 246.98 in the three-meter dive and took second place in the one-meter dive (234.15)
• Took first in both diving events: 2:19.22 in his first dive and 157.87 in his second against Providence
• Finished first with a season-best and personal record score of 262.20 in the one-meter diving event against Springfield

2015-2016:

• Competed in four individual events including the 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke, 50 and 100 freestyle
• Additionally competed in one and three meter dives
• Also competed in the 200 freestyle relay
• Recorded season-best times in the 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke at the Assumption Pentathlon (10/3) and in the 100 (55.18) and 50 (23:13) freestyle versus Bryant (1/30)
• Recorded season-best scores in the three-meter (243.60) and the one-meter (209.70) at Iona (10/9)

2014-2015:

• Competed in eight individual events including the 100 backstroke, 50 and 100 freestyle, 100 individual medley, 100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly, and the one and three meter dives
• Also competed on the 200 and 400 freestyle and the 200 and 400 medley relay teams
• Posted season-best scores in the one meter (210.28) and three meter (195.67) dives versus Bryant. 

Before Holy Cross:

• A four-year member of the varsity swimming and diving team at Notre Dame High under head coaches Mike O’Brian and Steve DiVerniero, serving as team captain his senior year
• Competed in the one-meter dive, as well as breaststroke and freestyle events
• Also was a three-year member of the varsity football team, playing defensive end and a three-year member of the varsity lacrosse team at defense
• Served as a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society

 Personal:

• Son of Jim and Julie Nugent
• Father played lacrosse at the Catholic University of America (Class of 1986)
• Mother was a member of the swimming team at Eastern Michigan University (Class of 1984)
• Has one brother (Patrick) who attends Holy Cross (Class of 2020)
• Majoring in accounting
