2013-2014: Memberof the second varsity eight that defeated MIT (April 5) and UC SanDiego (April 12)… part of the second varsity eight thatplaced third in the third level final at the Eastern Sprints (May 18), where it defeated Georgetown, MIT andRutgers…raced in the IRA National Championship with thesecond varsity eight.

2012-2013: Part ofsecond varsity eight boat that won against Marist (March30)… member of second varsity eight boat that had victoriesagainst Georgetown (April 20) and Bucknell (April 28).

2011-2012: Rowedin six spring regattas...rowed for the second freshman eight thatwon a race against Rutgers (April 22).

Before Holy Cross: Member of the varsity golfteam at Ennistymon Christian Brothers School…team captainsenior year…awarded Student of the Year.

Personal: Son of Paddy Doherty and ChristineSwords…has one brother, Cian…uncle Kevin R. Swordswas inducted into the Holy Cross Hall of Fame for rugby in 2002(Class of 1982)…had numerous relatives graduate from HolyCross including: great uncle Raymond J. Swords, SJ (Class of 1938),grandfather John P. Swords (Class of 1943), great grandfather JohnG. O’Conner (Class of 1919), Uncle Brian R. Swords (Class of1974), uncle John M. Swords (Class of 1976), uncle Brendan J.Swords (Class of 1983)...majoring in Physics.
