Steven Sparks enters his first season as the men's rowing assistant coach in the 2023-2024 season.
Prior to his time on the Hill, Sparks most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach at Tufts University, focusing on the development of rowers and coxswains, and as an assistant juniors rowing coach with the Cambridge Boat Club. With Cambridge, Sparks assisted with on-the-water coaching while also handling regatta coaching, travel and logistics, and boat safety and maintenance.
A 2022 graduate of Bates College, Sparks competed for four years on the varsity men's rowing team. While at Bates, Sparks was named the team's Outstanding Freshman Rower Award in his first season, a three-year team captain, and a two-time IRCA First Team All-American.
