Evans enters his fourth year as theMen's Freshman Rowing Coach in 2008-2009, which marks a reunionwith his former coach and new head coach, Todd Pearson. "Eddie'senthusiasm for rowing, which was apparent to me while I wascoaching him remains as strong as ever," remarked Pearson, adding"I am confident that Eddie will continue to build strong freshmancrews that will feed the varsity team with exceptional athletes."
Upon graduating from Holy Cross in2005 as Captain of the Varsity rowing team, Evans was hired tocoach the freshman team. As an oarsman, Evans won numerous medalsat the New England Rowing Championship, Patriot LeagueChampionship, and ECAC National Regatta. He was a member of the2004 Varsity 8, which was the first Holy Cross Heavyweight 8 tocompete at the Eastern Sprints Regatta. After graduation, Evanstrained for two years with the Lightweight High Performance Groupat Riverside Boat Club in Cambridge, MA, which represented the USAin the Lightweight 8 at the 2006 World Rowing Championships.
As a coach, Evans has guided somethe most successful freshman boats HC has ever put on the water.His crews have won the Knecht Cup twice, the Patriot LeagueRegatta, and his 2007 crew was the first Holy Cross Freshmen 8 tocompete at the Eastern Sprints Regatta and the IRA NationalChampionships.
Evans lives in Walpole, Mass. andteaches history and government at Hopedale High School.
