Ben MacDougald is currently in his sixth year as the men's rowing assistant coach and recruiting coordinator in the 2023-2024 season.
In the spring of 2021, MacDougald helped the Crusaders to a 15th place team finish at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Championship, the best in program history. In addition, the varsity eight tied school records by being nationally ranked for five straight weeks and reaching a high ranking of No. 16.
MacDougald joined the Crusader staff after holding various volunteer coaching positions at Holy Cross. MacDougald also coached the Old Lyme Rowing Association prior to his time on the Hill.
MacDougald was a four-year member of the men's rowing team at Holy Cross as a coxswain and earned a bachelor's degree in history in 2019. After graduation, he enrolled in the Institute for Rowing Leadership in Boston.
