Dan McKeon is in his first season as an assistant men’slacrosse coach at Holy Cross in 2013.
McKeon spent the 2012 season as an assistant coach at SienaCollege, where he coached the goalies and face-off specialistswhile assisting the defensive coordinator. He coached Siena goalieTom Morr, who was named the 2012 Metro Atlantic Athletic ConferenceDefensive Player of the Year. Siena went 11-5 overall in 2012,winning the MAAC regular season title and advancing to the MAACchampionship game.
During the 2010 and 2011 seasons, McKeon was a volunteerassistant coach at Union College. He coached goalie Sean Aaron, whoearned All-America honors in both 2010 and 2011. Union won the 2011Liberty League championship and advanced it to the second round ofthe NCAA Tournament.
As a four-year member of the men’s lacrosse team at Albanyas a goalie, McKeon appeared in 42 games. As a sophomore he playedin 18 games as the Great Danes won the America East championshipand made it to the NCAA quarterfinals. McKeon was also a member ofthe Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
A native of Camillus, N.Y., McKeon attended West Genesee HighSchool where he was the starting goalie in 2004 and 2005 as theteam won the New York state championship both years. He earned 2005first team All-Central New York honors, after being named to thethird team in 2004. McKeon was a member of the 2004 Central EmpireState Games team which won the gold medal.
McKeon earned his bachelor’s degree from Albany in 2009,with a sociology major and a minor in business administration. Hiscousin Brian McKeon graduated from Holy Cross (Class of 2003) andplayed on the 2001 men’s lacrosse team.
