AS A JUNIOR IN 2022: 

• Made five relief appearances. 
• Totaled three strikeouts. 
• Threw a shutout inning with two strikeouts vs. Navy (4/10). 

BEFORE HOLY CROSS: 

• Transfer from Hamilton College, where he appeared in all three contests in 2020 prior to the conclusion of the season due to COVID-19.
• Played three varsity seasons at Fairfield Ludlowe High School under head coach Mike Francese as a pitcher and outfielder.
• All-FCIAC Division honoree in 2018 and 2019.
• Team finished with a 20-6 record and won FCIAC East in 2019.
• Set school record with a career WHIP of 1.03. 
• Recorded 77 strikeouts over 69 career innings.
• In 2019, posted a 1.81 ERA and 4-1 record in 38 innings with 45 strikeouts and a 0.84 WHIP.
• Offensively in 2019, posted a .352 average, .704 slugging percentage, 1.150 OPS, 10 doubles and four home runs.
• Had a 4.0 grade-point average in high school.
• Member of National Honor Society and Business Honor Society.

• Son of James and Maureen Benton. 
• Has two siblings (Michael and Marie). 
• Majoring in economics.
