2013: The sophomore started 40-out-of 42 games for the Crusaders…Posted 14 hits, five RBI’s, scored 18 runs in 83-at-bat appearances…Vargas was walked 13 times throughout the season (tied for third most on the team)…Against Grambling State in Kissimmee, Fla. (03/07) Ashleigh was 2-for-3 at the plate with one hit and one walk in the win.

2012: Appeared in 29 games, making 25 starts … recorded 17 hits in 68 at-bats for a .250 batting average … finished second on the team in stolen bases with seven … led all rookies in batting average, runs (11), stolen bases and hits … recorded her first career hit in the season opener against Detroit (March 4) … went three-for-four with a double and two runs batted in against South Dakota (March 5).

Before Holy Cross: Three-year member of the varsity softball team at Wakefield Memorial H.S. … team captain senior year … also a four-year member of the basketball team (captain junior and senior years) and two-year member of the soccer team … attended Phillips Andover Academy as a post-graduate and played one season of softball and basketball … member of the Concord Raiders club softball team.

Personal: Daughter of Eddie and Karina Vargas … has one brother (Jorge) and two sisters (Samantha and Karina) … majoring in Economics & Accounting.
