Softball drops series opener against Lehigh on Friday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Holy Cross softball team fell to Lehigh by a final score of 3-0 on Friday, Apr. 3.

STARTING IN THE CIRCLE:
  • Holy Cross: Sophia Roncone (L, 3-8), 6.0 innings pitched, two hits allowed, three runs (one earned), three strikeouts, six walks
  • Lehigh: Addison Moorman (W, 3-3), 7.0 innings pitched, two hits allowed, no runs, nine strikeouts, walk
AT THE PLATE: HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Helen Woloshyn came in to score for Lehigh in the bottom of the third to make it 1-0.
  • Woloshyn scored again for the Mountain Hawks in the bottom of the fifth on a fielder's choice to extend Lehigh's lead to 2-0.
  • An RBI-single by Kelly Fricker in the bottom of the sixth made it 3-0 Lehigh.
UP NEXT: 
  • The Crusaders close out the series against Lehigh with a doubleheader on Saturday, Apr. 4.
  • First pitch for game one is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
