LATHAM, N.Y. — The Holy Cross women's tennis team almost pulled off a victory, but suffered a close 4-3 loss to non-conference foe Siena Sunday afternoon.

The defeat sends the Crusaders to 2-4 on the year while the Saints move to 5-1.

DOUBLES ACTION:

• A pair of victories in doubles play for the Crusaders gave them the doubles point.
• Freshmen Margaret Winiecki and Phoebe Devine improved to 4-3 on the year in doubles play earning a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 slot.
• Senior Ashley Zilora and junior Alison Lynn were victorious at No. 3 defeating the opponent 6-4.

SINGLES PLAY:

• Siena surged in singles play earning four wins to capture the match.
• Devine was solid at No. 1 defeating her opponent 6-3, 6-4. It was her team-high tying fifth singles win of the season.
• Zilora had a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 5 for the Crusaders.

NEXT UP:

• The Crusaders are back in action at Bryant (2-3) on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 9:30 a.m.
