WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross freshman Alex Nixon has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, for competition from Oct. 26-Nov. 1. 

During Friday's meet at Bentley, Nixon won the 200-yard butterfly with a Dana Center pool record time of 1:52.26. He also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:49.03), while swimming a leg on teams that finished in second place 200-yard medley relay (1:36.63) and third place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:27.41).

Holy Cross will return to action on Friday, Nov. 6, when it faces Bryant. Diving events will take place in Worcester at 4:30 p.m., while swimming events will be held in Smithfield, R.I., at 5 p.m.
