WORCESTER, Mass. – Holy Cross baseball outfielders John LaFleur and Gianni Royer have been selected to the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Team announced by the organization on Tuesday.

LaFleur, an economics major posted a 3.58 GPA. An all-league second team honoree in 2025, he has appeared in 44 games making a start in 41 contests. The sophomore left fielder is tied for second in the Patriot League in home runs (7) while ranking third in RBI (48), ninth in slugging percentage (.484) and 10th in OPS (.889). Across 25 conference contests, LaFleur ranks second in RBI (27), is tied for fourth in home runs (4), ranks eighth in slugging percentage (.542) and eighth in OPS (.958).

Royer also majors in economics and has a 3.74 GPA. Another member of the Patriot League second team, the center fielder has started and played in 53 games for Holy Cross. He is tied for second in the Patriot League in doubles (18), third in stolen bases (24), tied for third in triples (3), fourth in hits (63), tied for fifth in RBI (40) and eighth in runs scored (43), In conference games, Royer finished second in doubles (10), third in stolen bases (11), 10th in batting average (.325) and 10th in slugging percentage (.488). He recorded the walk-off RBI double to clinch the Patriot League Tournament Championship on May 19 and was named to the All-Tournament Team for his efforts.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. To be eligible, student-athletes must be a sophomore or older with a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher. On the field, nominees must have played 90 percent of their team's games or started 66 percent of the season. Pitchers must have made either 17 appearances or pitched 25 innings to be eligible.
 
Holy Cross, the 2025 Patriot League regular-season and tournament champions finished the season at 31-27 and 17-8 PL.
