Holy Cross director of cross country and track and field Egetta Alfonso has announced the team captains for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
The women's team will be led by five seniors in two-time mid-distance captain Alex Lusby, multi-event athlete Celia Kulis, thrower Ester Mokonchu, sprinter Giavanna Ciaravino and distance runner Abby Granrath and junior thrower Gabby Paolella.
"Alex, a returning captain, will be joined by four seniors — Abby, Ester, Gia, and Celia — and one junior captain, Gabby," Alfonso said. "These ladies have distinguished themselves through their tireless work ethic, strong leadership, and commitment to excellence. Each of our captains leads with a clear sense of purpose and a unique perspective, creating the balance and drive that will propel our team forward."
On the men's side, senior and two-time mid-distance/distance captain Liam Lyons will lead alongside three juniors: thrower Michael Laflamme and sprinters Tristan Miller and Logan Mott.
"Liam, a returning captain, will lead the way after serving as a junior captain for both the XC and Track & Field teams last year and as a current XC captain this season. Joining him are junior captains Michael, Tristan, and Logan — all of whom showed outstanding dedication, steady improvement and a team-first mindset that fueled our success last season," Alfonso said. " I'm excited to see what the team will accomplish this year under their leadership."
The Crusaders will begin the 2025-26 indoor season on Dec. 6 at the Alden Invitational hosted by Brown and the Sharon Colyear-Danville opener hosted by Boston University.
