"Holy Cross SAAC, while also being committed to improving the overall student-athlete experience, is also dedicated to the City of Worcester, Team IMPACT, Big Brothers Big Sisters, student-athlete mental health and a number of other worthwhile entities," said Aaron Dashiell, assistant athletic director for student-athlete development and advisor for SAAC. "I am extremely excited about this group. Collectively, they've been heavily involved over the last two plus years, and I am sure they will bring consistent energy and new ideas to SAAC. This is a great mix of advocates, activists and high achieving student-athletes."
O'Connor, a sprinter on the women's track & field team, and
Kelly, a center on the football team, have been vocal members of SAAC during their time on The Hill.
Dashiell on O'Connor and Kelly: "We're lucky to have Christo remain on with us through the Fall semester and we can attribute our slight rebrand to him. Christo dubbed SAAC as the Student-Athlete Action Committee, with "Action" being his main charge for the group. Every year, we seem to always have that one unifier among the student-athletes as our SAAC President and Molly certainly fills that role for us this year. She is seen as someone among the student-athletes that will make time for them, no matter what else she has on her plate."
Pesansky, a quarterback on the football team, has been a passionate member of SAAC during his three years on campus.
Dashiell on Pesansky: "Joe has shown a passion for helping others over the past year as well as an amazing ability to rally the troops when needed. I can see him keeping us all grounded, making sure we maintain positivity and not allowing anyone to take themselves too seriously throughout the year."
Schnorr, a member of the women's rowing team, has been an active member of the committee during her time as a student-athlete.
Dashiell on Schnorr: "Teagan is another person that will be able to keep the group grounded. She is so thoughtful and I can't wait for her to find and use her voice among the rest of the student-athletes."
Dubin, a goalkeeper on the women's soccer team, joins a long line of women's soccer players who have been involved with SAAC at the highest level.
Dashiell on Dubin: "Olivia is another one that has a great deal of experience in SAAC and is continuing a tradition of keeping women's soccer at the forefront of SAAC involvement."
Larson, a midfielder on the men's lacrosse team, brings motivation and experience to the executive board.
Dashiell on Larson: "Really excited about Owen joining this group. Again, another person that motivates and can corral a number of people to champion a cause. Owen is going to help us magnify our platforms and causes in social spaces."
